Hunting Wabbits

This year the Marching Bucís are trying something completely different. Our show entitled Hunting Wabbits is based on the music of Gordon Goodwin. Gordon Goodwin is a prolific jazz composer and band leader in Los Angeles. He has written music for various film and television scores and he even won a GRAMMY award for his arrangement of the ďIncreditsĒ which is the opening music to the movie the Incredibles. In addition to his writing he also leads the Big Phat Band. The Marching Bucís will be performing an arrangement of his tunes, Hunting Wabbits, Ever Braver, Ever Stronger and Hunting Wabbits 2: A Bad Hare Day. You will even hear some quotes of Rossiniís Overture to the Barber of Seville for a truly wacky ending. We open in a peaceful forest with a little wabbit emerging from his hole. The Wabbit is lured by his favorite root vegetable, the carrot. While thoroughly enjoying his tasty treat he is nearly snatched by a net. After this near miss the wabbit now knows that he will be busy today. Will the wabbit teach these hunters a lesson? Will the hunters finally catch their prize? Will they fall in love? How many places can the wabbit hide? To find out keep your eye on the bunny and enjoy HUNTING WABBITS!!

The Marching Buccaneers have been Bands of America Regional Competition Finalists: the 2000 Bands of America Eastern Regional Competition in Hempstead, LI, finishing 8th, the 1997 BOA Southeastern Regional in Johnson City, TN, finishing 2nd in class AA, and the 1987 Morgantown, W.Va. Regional, finishing 3rd. They have performed in Arizona, Florida, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Massachusetts, Tennessee, New Jersey and West Virginia.
